On the 29th of July, 1978, five people were named to a new organization within the
Society for Creative Anachronism. On that day
Guillamme le Clien Blane, Stephen Ironhand, Ternon de Caerleon, William of Bellwood, and
William Vatavia became the first Fyrdmen of Calontir.
This is the website of the order of the Iren Fyrd in the Kingdom of Calontir.
The more than 400 members of the Iren Fyrd have not only proven their ability in SCA combat
both in individual and melee combat but also proven their value to the Kingdom of Calontir.
Here you will find links to resources useful to Fyrdmen as well as the history and tradition
of the Backbone of the Calontir Army.
If you are a part of the Calontir Army, Fyrdman or not, and you are planning on attending
Pennsic War XXXVI, please go to the Muster Page and add your name to the Muster List. The
Muster List assists both Their Majesties and Their General Waldryk in planning for the war.
This site is new and is still a work in progress. Current plans include
providing links to fighting and armoring resources on the web, a page displaying the
items in the Fyrd box, a page of Fyrd related songs, a page of the history of the Fyrd, and a Fyrd picture gallery. If you
